Jumoke Ilori

My name is Jumoke, and I am a British-African female writer. I have a BA in Creative Writing; and I currently I live in North West London. My love for writing started from a very young age. I would sit in my bedroom and write short stories, poems, songs and screenplays. Words that I found hard to say, I would express and convert into writing. Because I am not much of a talker, writing made me feel happy and fulfilled. Writing was me, my pen and notebook - it felt like escapism - a place where I was allowed to express myself freely, without minding my thoughts or being judged. I have written for FAB & Checkout Magazine; and hopefully in the nearest future, I would like to take snippets from my life story and turn them into a movie, in a way to encourage women be strong.
