You Are Stronger Than You Think You Are

Shani holds a mirror to your soul, so you can…
Sometimes, life can get a little rough. You’ll be pushed to your limits, overcome by what feels like a mountain of stress, and struggle to see light on the horizon.
Nothing will seem to be going your way, you’ll be on the receiving end of no after no, and you may find yourself way down a winding path wondering whether you should call it a day and turn around.
The pep talks that usually work will lose effect, your morning meditation will feel like a struggle with stillness, and nothing anyone says to comfort or soothe you seems to make you feel any better.
And this can be the beginning of your spiral. The beginning of overwhelm, and feeling completely out of control of your life, and your destiny.
But never forget you are stronger than you think you are.
You are stronger than whatever is weighing heavy on your mind or your heart right now. You are stronger than any problem, any setback, and any failure. And even when it feels like you’ve reached your limits, you have not. Because you’re still here, you are still breathing, and you are still going.
And whatever it is you’re going through, growing through, is shaping you, challenging you, and helping you move forward in some way. I know it’s difficult to see that right now, when you’re in the midst of the cloud. But clouds are constantly moving, and there is always a blue sky out there somewhere, just waiting to beam through.
Never forget how wildly capable you are. We’re so quick to focus on our flaws, our fuck ups, and all the things we’re not doing. Take a moment to think about all that you are doing, all of your accomplishments, and all of your gifts. Because when you look for them, and stop to appreciate them, you’ll see how abundant they are.
I’m writing this for you as much as I am for me. Because we all need a gentle reminder sometimes of our strength. Sometimes life speeds up without us noticing, and we find ourselves caught up in a whirlwind of our own making; where you can no longer think rationally or see clearly.
It’s in these moments that you need someone outside to reflect to you what they can see; how they see you. And it’s in these moments that you are being called to slow down, to pause, and to remind yourself of your strength, and your grace.
You are stronger than you think you are. You are doing better than you think you are. And you are going to get through this, and rise.
